The William Oliver

The William Oliver, a 17-story high-rise built for office use in 1930 and converted to I apartments in time for the 1996 Olympics, is entering a new phase as Skelton Development converts the property to condominiums. The William Oliver is the largest example of classic art deco architecture in the South. Rick Skelton of Atlanta-based Skelton Development has preserved as much of the original building as possible and has attempted to match the atmosphere of the original building. The lobby features fully restored elevators, brass ornamentation and an art deco ceiling mural. Several condominiums have original glass office doors, one still bearing the name of its corporate occupant.

The William Oliver is not all typical.The building offers a sophisticated alternative within the heart of downtown's historic Fairlie-Popular neighborhood.
